The beaches of the Coast of the Gods
Thus wrote the Venetian writer Giuseppe Berto: " ...the stretch of coast that culminates in Capo Vaticano is full of history and beauty. One could call it Costabella, with a pinch of regret and nostalgia...".
The wild charm of these places enraptured him, and here he chose to spend his life.
Thus he described Capo Vaticano:
"... as soon as I saw it, I knew that that land from which those magical islands could be seen was my second land, and here I came to live. I am on a promontory high above the sea, a point of granite too old, crumbling as it falls. It is a stunning panorama. And when from the tip of my promontory I look at the rocks and the little beaches a hundred meters below and the crystal-clear sea that at once turns deep blue, I know I am in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Often, standing there watching, I end up forgetting where I am, so completely I am satisfied by that beauty and by the wholly selfish thought that it is mine, it belongs to me...".
" Here I will build with my own hands a shelter and I think that, in the end, this could do well as the place of my life and also of my death...".
For Families: The Santa Maria Beach is ideal because it has shallow waters and golden sand, perfect for kids.
For Relax and the View: The Tono Beach offers wide stretches of white sand and a breathtaking turquoise sea at the foot of the headland.
For Snorkeling: Recommend the Grotticelle Bay, where the clear seabed and rocks are full of marine life.
The "Hidden Gems": Mention Praia di Fuoco, reachable only by sea, for those seeking a wild, secluded vibe
